Methodist Welfare Services
Since 1981, the Methodist Welfare Services ("MWS") has served thousands of needy individuals and families through its care and compassionate services. MWS provides constant care to almost 6,000 needy persons in the community, regardless of race or religion, through its outreach centers throughout Singapore. MWS operates four student care centers, a childcare center, an annual bursary program for students, four family service centers, a nursing home, a home for the destitute and a hospice homecare service.
From 2007-2009, CMIA has been the main sponsor of MWS's Annual Charity Football tournament. In 2010, CMIA was a main sponsor of and also instrumental in helping MWS work with the Singapore Repertory Theatre on two charity events, the first a children's theatre play entitled "Upstairs In The Sky" and the second a charity performance at the Esplanade Theatre of "Fried Rice Paradise", a local musical comedy.
