CMIA is committed to being a socially responsible investor and corporate citizen. We invest in companies that:
  • adopt good environment policies and practices
  • produce safe and useful products
  • support efforts to promote the well-being of the local community

The other key aspect of our commitment is expressed by our charity initiative. Through our charitable giving programs, we are able to help charity organisations in assisting their beneficiaries. For 2008/9, our designated charities are:

  • Building Schools in Putian City, Fujian Province: As of now, CMIA has worked with the people of Putian to set up 3 schools. CMIA hopes that by providing such schools for the children of Putian, we would give them an opportunity for a meaningful and beneficial education. With this education we hope the children can strive to greater heights and achieve their dreams.

  • Lakeside Family Centre: Lakeside is a registered charity which provides counselling, financial assistance and development services to needy families, juvenile offenders and troubled youths. Lakeside's quality services are furnished to beneficiaries regardless of race, language or religion. Through its two family service centres, Lakeside serves thousands of needy beneficiaries each year. For more information, please visit www.lakeside.org.sg.

  • Sichuan Earthquake Relief: On May 12, 2008 the Sichuan province in the People’s Republic of China was struck by a deadly earthquake. Rated the nineteenth deadliest earthquake of all time, it killed at least 69,000 people and displaced more than 4.8 million people. Together with Yingli, a commercial real estate company, CMIA pledged RMB 10 million to aid the people affected by this disaster.

  • YMCA: YMCA of Singapore is a Christian voluntary welfare organisation (VWO) dedicated to enrich the lives of the intellectually/physically/mentally challenged, rebuild the lives of out-of-school youth and help children from low income families. We have been serving the community through programmes that not only serve the disadvantaged, but also encourage the spirit of social responsibility and volunteerism. www.ymca.org.sg
