2. Investment Associate, CMIA Shanghai
CMIA Capital Partners currently has a vacancy for an Investment Associate at our Shanghai office.
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting.
- At least 4 years experience in the accounting or audit fields.
- Good accounting skills and proficient in analyzing financial statements.
- Able to relate to all levels of personnel in a company.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Preferably with some investment and corporate finance experience.
- Able to travel and work offsite for extended period.
Job Description:
- Take an active role in the origination of investments in the private equity area.
- Contribute to all aspects of the investment cycle including deal sourcing, qualification, due diligence, monitoring, institutionalize and divestment.
- Interface with portfolio companies to gain in depth understanding of the companies’ business, operations, market and growth potential.
- Propose investment structure for portfolio companies.
- Analyze finance statements and conduct financial due diligence on portfolio companies.
- Manage the complete investment process especially co-ordination with other professionals (e.g. lawyers, auditors, industry experts) and portfolio companies on the due diligence process.
- Monitor the portfolio companies’ progress and work with management to institutionalize their operations, processes and internal controls.
- Follow through on divestment processes.

The CMIA Summer Analyst Program provides a comprehensive learning and professional experience to promising undergraduates keen on the finance and investment industry, in particular China-focused private equity.
The program will run from 10-12 weeks every summer, with flexible start and end dates depending on availability.
Successful candidates will be bright, energetic, pro-active and should be in the penultimate year of their undergraduate program. All majors will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates majoring in Business, Economics or Finance. In addition, fluency in English and Chinese is essential.
Please note that applications for the CMIA Summer Analyst Program 2007 are closed. Applications for the 2008 program will commence in February 2008.
