
Anson Wang has over 25 years’ experience in fund management, corporate banking and finance, having worked in Chicago, New York, London, Beijing and Hong Kong.
Prior to co-founding CMIA Capital Partners with Lee Chong Min, Wang was the Regional Managing Director at HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong. Under his leadership, HSBC become one of the largest institutional fund Investment Advisors in Asia and the largest pension fund Investment Advisor in Hong Kong.
Wang was previously the founding Chief Executive Officer of State Street Global Advisors (Asia), the fund management arm of the State Street Bank Corporation, in which he helped to build and raise assets under management from zero to approximately US$5 billion.
Wang also founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of two venture capital firms, RiverAsia Inc. and HongKong.com Studios.
Wang is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director at China.com Incorporation, a Hong Kong-listed software company and Non-Executive Director of China Minzhong Food Corporation Limited, a CMIA portfolio company which is listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
Anson Wang holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Business Administration in International Finance from Rutgers University, where he was also a fellowship recipient and honors graduate.
